Update: Check out the Cambridge Chronicle for more information about the Le Meridien workers’ struggle
On Thursday, October 11, 2012, workers at the Le Meridien Cambridge joined San Francisco Le Meridien workers in launching a boycott of their own hotel. Over 200 community and hotel and food service workers joined Le Meridien Cambridge workers on the picket line to demand justice from the hotel’s owner and operator, private equity hotelier, HEI Hospitality. After the picket, protesters took to the streets, in a march towards Cambridge City Hall. They were received by Cambridge City Councilors Denise Simmons and Ken Reeves, who expressed continued solidarity in the workers’ struggle for respect and a voice on the job.
As with the boycott of the Le Meridien San Francisco, the boycott of the Le Meridien Cambridge Hotel continues until workers secure the justice they deserve. To learn more about the Le Meridien Cambridge and San Francisco boycotts, please visit www.HotelCrap.org.
